OUR COMMITMENT
At Veruna, mining is a vehicle for transformation. Our commitment is not only to extract resources—but to uplift the communities we touch.
Commitment to Community
Alejandro Sánchez, our Head of Mexico Operations, embodies this spirit. Raised in an orphanage in Hermosillo, Alejandro has never forgotten where he came from. He has dedicated his life to giving back—not just to his own orphanage, but to dozens more across Sonora and beyond.
He is joined in this mission by Jonathan and Amy Cooper, and a growing group of partners who believe that wealth should heal, not harm. Together, they are creating a new model of ethical mining—one that gives as much as it takes.
Commitment to Environment
Veruna is building an environmentally responsible future, exploring and applying sustainable mining techniques that minimize disturbance, conserve resources, and prioritize restoration from day one. Our approach is guided by a simple belief: responsible development is the only path to lasting success in mining.
We’re not just here to extract gold — we’re here to protect the ecosystems that make our projects possible and to leave the land better than we found it. This means planning for restoration before the first yard of gravel is moved, ensuring our activities fit within the natural rhythms of the land, and working closely with local communities and regulators to safeguard air, water, and wildlife.
U.S. — Mexico Partnership
We believe in a strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial partnership between the United States and Mexico — one built on shared governance, shared prosperity, and shared vision. For Veruna Minerals, this means honoring Mexico’s rich cultural heritage and mining traditions while bringing U.S. investment, innovation, and technical expertise to the table.
Our goal is to create real benefits for local communities through jobs, training, and responsible development, while delivering lasting value for stakeholders on both sides of the border. Together, we can protect the environment, unlock the potential of historic mining districts, and ensure that the wealth we create today strengthens the bond between our nations for generations to come.
